It’s hard to have your own space online. Using social media to share your work can be disempowering and frustrating; your content quickly disappears down the feed minutes after posting it. Or a sudden tweak in a social media algorithm means that no-one sees your post.
With your own website, you have a space that belongs to you, that you can shape to your own vision. You don't have to pay any monthly fees, and it's easy for you to update. You can showcase your work, link to other sites, and build a permanent online space where people can find you.
